Bonchester Bridge Riverside Park is a Scottish borders caravan & camping site. Nestled within the village of Bonchester Bridge in the Scottish Borders, “Bonnie” park lends itself perfectly to those who want to adventure, explore or simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. A pretty park with a mixture of woods and glade which line its entire length along the beautiful Rule Waters, full of dancing trout, leaping salmon and an abundance of other wildlife, including otters and heron.
On the other side of the river to the east overlooking the camp site is the local landmark Bonchester Hill with remnants of human occupation which began at least in the late bronze age and ended with the last occupants, the Roman army, who built a fort there from which Bonchester Bridge gets its name “Bonna Castra” (meaning Good Camp).
Whilst staying at our Caravan & Camping Site, why not walk in the footsteps of legends. Explore the regions rich and diverse history steeped in folklore and tradition. Listen hard enough and you can still hear the clashes of swords and cries of the reivers horsemen who for centuries settled scores and aligned themselves with families or “clans” to protect hard fought for (and sometimes stolen) lands and property.
We have a mixture of grass & hard standing pitches, some pitches benefiting from electric hook up. All of our pitches are well proportioned, meaning they are suitable for tents, trailer tents, roof tents, motorhomes, campervans, tourers and anything else! There is virtually no mobile signal, the best network is ee, but why not take a break from technology! Our campsite is quiet and peaceful with no noise, apart from the wildlife! Our refurbished toilet & shower facility also houses the sluice and a kitchen equipped with washing machine, clothes dryer, sink for dishes, microwave and charging points for personal devices. These facilities are highly rated on campsite reviews, which also score very highly for the campsite more generally.
